Crime Update

At a recent Devizes Community Area Safety Committee meeting the Police revealed that there has been a vigorous campaign to deal with the litter and alcohol problem on the Green. As a result of frequent visits to the Green, several fixed penalty notices have been issued to offenders as well a penalties for urinating in a public place. This iniative will continue for the next few months.

Crime as a whole has continued to decline in the area and is down again on last year's figures. However, we do still have issues with young motoring enthusiasts who have received words of discouragement from local officers. Working with Wiltshire Council I am looking to install CCTV cameras in Station Road Car Park in the not too distant future. There are also initiatives being explored to install cameras in Sheep Street Car Park as well.
